The Phil Langran Trio

21st February at Royal British Legion

Phil Langran has been writing, playing and singing songs since laying hands on his first guitar at the age of fifteen. In recent years, particularly inspired by workshops with Kathryn Williams and Boo Hewerdine he has further honed his distinctive style – literate, highly melodic and keenly observed scenes of life, love and landscape. He has recorded and appeared extensively as a solo artist and with the Phil Langran Band. For the Second Time Around club he'll be joined by two of the most versatile musicians on the local folk scene: Steve Benford (guitar and tenor banjo) and Alistair Bloomfield (fiddle). Steve is also caller for The Beeston Ceilidh Collective, and Alistair plays for a variety of dance troupes, including Sullivan's Sword and Whip The Cat.
